Our Research Stream and our Solutions Stream are distinct but intertwined branches of our work, operating in tandem to co-constitute and inform each other’s practices, perspectives, and processes.
Research
Our Research Stream’s core intellectual agenda is overseen by our Research Leads, highly experienced senior scholars in fields ranging from computer science to philosophy, political science, and law.
The Research Stream aims to investigate and transform the way we think about how technology, systems, and society interact. It’s deeply informed by four interwoven “conversations” that take into account the nature of information, the human norms and values that comprise communities, the question of alignment between these values and information, and finally, the dynamics at play between technology and the human agenda.
Solutions
Our Solutions Stream aims to meet the demand within industry, government, and civil society for innovative, actionable, and both locally and globally relevant solutions to the challenge of building safe, responsible, and inclusive AI.
Our team of public policy researchers are investigating the crucial regulatory and legislative challenges of the artificial intelligence era. We move beyond abstract principles, ethics, and guidelines to develop real solutions. We believe that new models are needed, ones which reimagine the relationship between citizens, government, and the private sector.
